Methodology

• Each figure is a median of per-lens medians. We take the median asking price for every tracked lens, then take the median across lenses, so one expensive outlier model does not pull the whole index up.
• A lens needs at least 5 listings in the period to be included. Thinly traded lenses are left out rather than reported on noisy data.
• We trim outliers before taking medians, so a mis-priced or mislabelled listing does not skew a lens.
• Sold (confirmed) counts only explicit sold signals from store feeds, so it is a hard floor: most shops can only show a sale by removing the listing, which lands under Delisted. Sold (inferred) estimates those hidden sales: a delisted listing counts if it never came back, was not part of a bulk feed change, and the same lens did not reappear at the same shop at about the same price within 14 days (that pattern is a store recreating its listing, not a sale).
• Segments need at least 5 listings in the period to show a median; thinner segments show their listing count only.
• Days to delist is days to delist, not days to sell. A listing can disappear because it sold or because the shop pulled it, so treat it as a rough liquidity signal.
• Price collection began on June 2, 2026. Any period that starts earlier than that only covers a partial window.
• Lenses graded for parts or repair are excluded from the price figures.
• All prices are in US dollars, captured at the time the edition was built.
