The C Simlar is a coated collapsible normal lens with four elements in three groups. Its compact optical layout belongs to the Tessar or Elmar-type family.

History

Tokyo Optical introduced the C Simlar around 1947. The C denotes coating. This generation retained the early aperture scale and 50mm engraving, and was replaced when the prefix was dropped around 1951.

Handling

Minimum focus is approximately 3.5 ft, or 1.07 m. The collapsible chrome barrel accepts A36 clamp-on accessories and retracts for compact transport.

Compatibility
