This factory Leica screw-mount Makro-Plasmat combines a collapsible, rangefinder-coupled barrel with a six-element, five-group optical construction. It is mechanically distinct from adapted lens cells and from longer Makro-Plasmat versions.

Rendering
The optical layout contains six elements in five groups. The f/2.7 aperture offers more speed than many compact lenses of its period, while the Makro-Plasmat design is associated with close-range correction. Performance still depends strongly on element condition and alignment.
Handling
The native M39 barrel collapses for storage and focuses to approximately 1 metre. Rangefinder coupling permits normal focusing on compatible Leica screw-mount bodies. Care is required before collapsing the lens on an adapted digital body.
History
Development and Launch
Documented original M39 examples date to 1933 and were produced by Hugo Meyer in Görlitz. The factory Leica-mount execution belongs to the early expansion of the Plasmat family into compact 35mm-camera use.
Production Evolution
Original collapsible coupled barrels are documented in both nickel and chrome finishes. The finish change does not indicate a different optical formula.
Special Editions/Variants
A factory-sample engraving is known on one surviving example. It is treated as a production-status variation rather than a separate lens profile.
Collector Notes
The original collapsible mount, rangefinder cam and maker engraving are essential identifiers because loose Makro-Plasmat cells have also been adapted to Leica mounts.
