Optical Qualities

The Super Rokkor uses five elements in three groups. Its ten-blade diaphragm maintains a rounded opening through much of the aperture range.

History

Introduced in the late 1940s, this short telephoto was made by Chiyoda Kogaku for the Minolta-35 rangefinder system. Surviving examples commonly carry the earlier Chiyoko name.

Handling

The lens focuses to approximately 1.35 metres. Period specifications give a length of about 76mm and a weight near 369 grams, with a 40mm accessory thread.

Compatibility

This is a native Leica thread mount lens with mechanical rangefinder coupling. It is suitable for compatible LTM bodies and can be adapted to Leica M with the appropriate 90mm-frame adapter.
