This compact 35mm lens uses four elements in three groups. Contemporary descriptions associate it with an early achromatic coating developed for Japanese photographic lenses.

History

The Rokkor was produced by Chiyoda Kogaku and sold with Chiyoko engraving. A documented factory example dates from around 1956 and was made in original rangefinder-coupled M39 mount.

Handling

The chrome barrel focuses to 1 metre and accepts 34mm screw-in filters. Its moderate f/3.5 aperture keeps the construction compact for a coupled wide-angle lens.

Compatibility

This is a native Leica thread mount lens with mechanical rangefinder coupling. It can be used on compatible LTM cameras and on Leica M bodies with a suitable 35mm LTM-to-M adapter.
