Light Lens Lab has announced the new 75mm f/1.5 “Z21” for Leica M-mount.
This follows the earlier 50mm f/1.5 Z21, but now in a longer and more portrait-focused focal length. What makes this lens interesting is that it is not presented as a copy of a specific vintage Leica lens. Instead, Light Lens Lab describes the Z21 series as its own original rendering line, built around tonal separation, atmospheric out-of-focus rendering and controlled optical imperfections.
In simple words: this does not sound like a clinical modern APO-style lens. It sounds more like a fast character lens for portraits, with enough sharpness where it matters and a more vintage-inspired look in the background.
The lens uses a 6 elements in 4 groups optical design, focuses down to 1 meter, has 10 aperture blades, an E55 filter thread and weighs around 454g. It will be available in Matte Black Paint.
The official price is $999 USD, but with discount code LEICALENSLIST the price becomes $949.05 USD.
