About this lens

DJ-Optical Ultra slim 35mm f/3.5 MC

The Ultra slim 35mm f/3.5 MC is a full-frame, manual-focus Leica M lens. Its silver metal barrel projects approximately 15mm beyond the mount and weighs about 140g. The distributor identifies it as the brand’s second lens after the NyctaLux 50mm f/1.0.

Optical qualities

The published construction uses eight elements in five groups, including one ED element and three high-refractive-index elements. The glass is multicoated. Independent performance testing is not established here, so the compact design should not be taken as evidence of particular sharpness, bokeh or flare performance.

Focusing and operation

Minimum focus is 0.5m, but mechanical rangefinder coupling operates only from infinity to approximately 0.7m, depending on the camera. At distances below 0.7m, use live view or another suitable focusing method.

An eight-blade diaphragm operates from f/3.5 to f/16 with a continuously variable, clickless aperture ring. Filters use a 25.5mm thread. The approximately 53mm diameter and 15mm length exclude the mount; 15mm is the barrel projection, not the total front-to-rear dimension. Front and rear caps and a slim UV filter are supplied.

History

Shoten Kobo announced the Japanese retail launch on 30 October 2026 at a suggested price of JPY 110,000 including tax. The earlier preorder page anticipated late-September shipping; that estimate is not treated as proof of an actual September release. The distributor product code is DJ-35F35M.
