For Sale a rare Nikon 3.5cm f/1.8 W-Nikkor-C screw mount “Nippon-Kogaku” lens. This exceptional piece is in Mint- condition and includes the very uncommon early original Nikon hood (marked for the Nikon 3.5cm f1,8 lens in one side and Nippon Kogaku on the other size”), Nikon front and rear vintage caps, and with original Nikon vintage leather case.

Lens Condition – Nice condition cosmetically, clear & clean glass with no fungus, haze, scratches etc., this is a great rare opportunity to acquire a very rare lens with even rarer lens hood in exceptional condition!

The rare Nippon Kogaku W-Nikkor-C 3.5cm f/1.8 in Leica Thread Mount (LTM/M39) (released 1956) is a highly sought-after, compact rangefinder lens with only about 1,500–2,000 units produced. It features 7 elements in 5 groups, Lanthanum glass for reduced aberration, 9 aperture blades (f/1.8–f/22), 43mm filter threads, and an infinity lock.

Significance: Introduced as the world’s fastest 35mm wide-angle lens for rangefinders at the time.

Rarity: While around 7,000 were made for Nikon S-mount, the LTM (Leica Thread Mount) version is much rarer, with estimates around 1,500 produced.
