DK-Optic

Est. 2026

It targets photographers attracted to the Dallmeyer Septac look, including glow, swirly bokeh, low-light atmosphere, and painterly rendering. Because original Septac lenses are rare and often require conversion or adaptation, a native M-mount recreation has clear collector and user appeal.

The Chiaro lenses extend this same idea into Super-Six-inspired rendering. The Chiaro 51mm f/1.9 and 76mm f/1.9 are positioned as modern rangefinder lenses with vintage British optical character. This places DK-Optic within the modern Leica M character-lens market rather than the mainstream high-correction optical market.

For LeicaLensList, DK-Optic should be included as a valid make. The scope should remain narrow and precise: only native Leica M-mount or otherwise Leica-compatible DK-Optic lenses should be listed. The make description should also clearly distinguish DK-Optic’s modern recreations from the original historic lenses that inspired them.
