Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of LeicaLensList.com and its accounts, community features, databases, price information and other services.

By creating an account, submitting content or using an interactive feature, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use those features.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer or other mandatory law.

1. Who operates Leica Lens List

Leica Lens List is operated by:

References to “Leica Lens List”, “LLL”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean Elated. Software Development.

2. What Leica Lens List provides

Leica Lens List is an independent photography reference and community. Its features can include:

• lens and camera profiles;
• specifications, comparisons and reviews;
• Lens Match and other recommendation tools;
• current and historical price information;
• shop profiles and maps;
• deals and coupon information;
• market reports and price indexes;
• the Lounge and comments;
• the stolen-gear registry;
• saved preferences and notifications; and
• links to third-party shops and marketplaces.

Leica Lens List is not a camera shop and does not hold or sell the products listed on the website.

Unless separate written terms state otherwise, the public website and ordinary user accounts are provided without charge.

3. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of agreeing to these Terms.

If you are under 16, do not create an account or submit content without permission from a parent or legal guardian. A parent or guardian who allows a minor to use an account is responsible for supervising that use to the extent permitted by law.

Leica Lens List is a specialist photography website and is not designed specifically for children.

4. Browsing and accounts

You do not need an account to browse most of Leica Lens List.

An account may be required to:

• create Lounge posts;
• leave certain comments;
• submit or manage stolen-gear reports;
• save information or preferences;
• request notifications; or
• use other interactive features.

When creating or using an account, you agree to:

• provide accurate and current information;
• use an email address you are authorised to use;
• keep your password and authentication details secure;
• not share, sell or transfer your account;
• not impersonate another person, business or organisation;
• maintain no more than one personal account unless we approve otherwise; and
• notify us if you suspect unauthorised access.

You are responsible for activity performed through your account where that activity results from your intentional conduct or failure to take reasonable security precautions.

5. User content

“User content” includes anything submitted by a visitor or account holder, including:

• Lounge posts;
• comments and replies;
• photographs and other files;
• reactions;
• stolen-gear reports and tips;
• shop information;
• corrections;
• usernames and profile information; and
• other messages or contributions.

You retain ownership of your original user content.

By submitting user content, you grant Leica Lens List a non-exclusive, worldwide and royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize, format and display that content as reasonably necessary to operate the feature in which you submitted it.

This licence allows us to:

• display the content on Leica Lens List;
• create technical copies and backups;
• resize or optimise uploaded images;
• show excerpts, previews and search results;
• distribute the content through website feeds; and
• provide the content through our hosting and technical service providers.

The licence ends when the content is deleted, except where:

• temporary copies remain in backups or caches;
• another user has legitimately quoted or responded to it;
• retention is necessary for security, legal claims or compliance; or
• applicable law permits or requires continued retention.

We will not use a submitted photograph in unrelated off-site advertising without additional permission.

6. Your responsibilities when posting

You may submit content only if:

• you created it or have permission to use it;
• its publication does not infringe copyright, privacy, trademark or other rights;
• it is accurate where presented as fact;
• it complies with applicable law; and
• it does not expose another person to an unreasonable privacy or safety risk.

You must not submit content that:

• is illegal or encourages illegal activity;
• is knowingly false, fraudulent or misleading;
• is defamatory or contains unverified criminal accusations;
• is threatening, hateful, discriminatory or harassing;
• contains another person’s private address, contact details or other doxxing information;
• exploits or endangers a child;
• infringes intellectual-property or privacy rights;
• contains malware or harmful code;
• is spam or unauthorised advertising;
• manipulates ratings, comments, reports or community activity;
• offers stolen, prohibited or unlawfully obtained goods;
• interferes with the operation of the website; or
• attempts to evade moderation or an account restriction.

Disagreement, criticism and correction are allowed when expressed lawfully and respectfully.

7. Public nature of community content

Lounge posts, comments, images, usernames and stolen-gear reports can be public.

Public content may be:

• viewed without an account;
• indexed by search engines;
• shared by other users;
• included in feeds or previews; and
• preserved temporarily by caches or web archives.

Do not publish information that you do not want to become public.

Deleting your account does not necessarily delete every contribution automatically. If you also want specific content reviewed for removal, identify it in your request.

8. Stolen-gear registry

The stolen-gear registry allows users to report and search for cameras and lenses that have allegedly been stolen or lost.

When submitting a report, you confirm that:

• the report is truthful to the best of your knowledge;
• you are the owner or are authorised to submit the report;
• the serial number and equipment information are accurate;
• any photographs are yours to share;
• the location and date information is reasonably accurate; and
• the report does not make unverified accusations against a named person.

Do not publish:

• a home address unless strictly necessary and lawful;
• private information about witnesses or possible suspects;
• accusations that cannot be supported;
• police documents containing unnecessary personal data; or
• information that could interfere with an investigation.

Leica Lens List may edit, redact, hide, mark or remove a report to protect individuals, correct errors, prevent abuse or comply with the law.

The registry is community submitted. A report appearing on Leica Lens List is not a finding by law enforcement and does not prove that a person possesses stolen property.

If equipment has been stolen:

• report it to the relevant police or law-enforcement authority;
• notify your insurer where applicable;
• do not confront a suspected person based only on a registry result; and
• provide Leica Lens List with updates if the equipment is recovered.

Leica Lens List cannot guarantee that a report will be verified, seen by the right person or result in recovery.

9. Anonymous tips

A tip described as anonymous is not displayed with a public account identity.

Ordinary technical and security information may still be processed to deliver the tip, investigate abuse and protect the service. Do not use anonymous tips to submit knowingly false allegations, threats, harassment or another person’s unnecessary personal information.

10. Content moderation

Leica Lens List may review user content and account activity to enforce these Terms, protect users and comply with the law.

Moderation may include:

• human review;
• automated spam or security filters;
• reducing the visibility of content;
• adding warnings or status labels;
• editing formatting or redacting personal information;
• rejecting or removing content;
• restricting a feature;
• temporarily suspending an account; or
• permanently terminating an account.

We consider factors such as:

• the nature and seriousness of the issue;
• risk to other people;
• whether the conduct is repeated;
• the user’s explanation;
• the reliability of available evidence; and
• legal or regulatory obligations.

Where reasonably possible and legally appropriate, we will explain a material moderation decision. We may act without advance warning where immediate action is justified by illegality, security, fraud, serious abuse or risk to another person.

Automated tools may flag content or activity, but significant moderation decisions may be reviewed by a person where appropriate.

11. Reporting illegal or prohibited content

You can report content by emailing info@leicalenslist.com or using the contact form.

A useful report should include:

• the exact URL or location of the content;
• a clear explanation of why it is illegal or violates these Terms;
• supporting information where available;
• your name and email address, unless the law permits an anonymous notice; and
• a statement that you believe the report is accurate and submitted in good faith.

We may ask for additional information where a report is not sufficiently precise.

Submitting a notice does not guarantee removal. We assess the content, context, applicable law, rights of affected people and available evidence.

Knowingly submitting false or abusive notices is prohibited.

12. Challenging a moderation decision

If your content or account is restricted, you may request a review by contacting info@leicalenslist.com.

Include:

• your username;
• the affected content or account;
• the decision you want reviewed; and
• why you believe the decision should be changed.

A review may confirm, change or reverse the original decision. Nothing in this process limits rights or remedies available under applicable law.

13. Copyright and other rights complaints

If you believe content on Leica Lens List infringes your copyright, trademark, privacy or another legal right, contact info@leicalenslist.com.

Include:

• identification of the protected work or right;
• the exact URL of the disputed content;
• an explanation of the alleged infringement;
• your contact details;
• evidence that you own the right or are authorised to act; and
• a good-faith statement that the information is accurate.

We may remove or restrict content while reviewing a sufficiently supported complaint. We may also contact the person who submitted the content and allow them to respond where appropriate.

14. Lens, camera and compatibility information

Specifications, production dates, compatibility information, optical formulas, measurements and historical descriptions are provided for reference.

Camera and lens products can have multiple versions, regional variations, conversions and undocumented production changes. Before purchasing, mounting or modifying equipment, verify compatibility with the manufacturer, seller or a qualified technician.

Leica Lens List is not responsible for damage caused by relying on unverified compatibility information, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

15. Lens Match and recommendations

Lens Match and similar tools generate suggestions based on selected preferences, catalogue information and available price data.

Recommendations are informational. They are not personalised professional advice and do not guarantee:

• compatibility;
• image quality;
• condition;
• availability;
• price;
• suitability for a particular use; or
• future resale value.

The final choice and any resulting purchase remain yours.

16. Prices and market information

Leica Lens List collects listings and price information from third-party shops and marketplaces.

Price information may include:

• current advertised prices;
• historical observations;
• lowest available prices;
• median values;
• currency conversions;
• availability;
• seller information; and
• condition or product descriptions supplied by third parties.

This information may be delayed, incomplete, incorrectly matched or no longer available.

Prices displayed on Leica Lens List:

• are not offers made by Leica Lens List;
• do not create a sales agreement with Leica Lens List;
• may exclude tax, shipping, import charges or payment fees;
• may differ because of currency conversion;
• may refer to different product conditions or versions; and
• must be confirmed on the retailer’s website.

Market reports and price indexes describe observed listings. They are not appraisals, financial advice, investment advice or guarantees of a future selling price.

17. Price alerts and notifications

A price alert or other notification is a convenience, not a guarantee.

We cannot guarantee that:

• every matching listing will be detected;
• a notification will arrive immediately;
• an email will be successfully delivered;
• a product will remain available; or
• the retailer will honour an outdated or erroneous price.

Always verify the current offer with the retailer.

18. Deals and coupon codes

Deal, sale and coupon information can change without notice.

A retailer may:

• end a promotion early;
• change its prices;
• exclude certain products;
• restrict a code by country or currency;
• refuse combinations with another offer; or
• impose additional conditions.

Leica Lens List attempts to keep deal information current but cannot guarantee that a promotion or code will work. The retailer’s displayed price and terms are final.

19. Affiliate links

Some links to shops and marketplaces are affiliate links.

If you follow an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase, Leica Lens List may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.

Affiliate arrangements do not determine:

• how products or shops are ranked;
• which lenses or cameras are included;
• the conclusions of reviews; or
• whether criticism is published.

Leica Lens List is not a party to your purchase from an external shop. Questions concerning payment, delivery, returns, condition, warranty, tax or refunds must be addressed to the retailer.

20. Shop profiles and third-party businesses

Shop profiles can contain information from public sources, retailer submissions, users and automated price collection.

A shop profile does not mean that Leica Lens List:

• endorses the shop;
• guarantees its identity or reliability;
• has inspected its products;
• guarantees stock or pricing; or
• accepts responsibility for a transaction.

Shops may request correction of inaccurate factual information. Leica Lens List retains editorial control over independent descriptions, disclosures and lawful opinions.

Any verified partner, business dashboard, paid subscription or commercial service may be subject to separate terms.

21. External websites and services

Leica Lens List links to retailers, marketplaces, manufacturers, map providers, video platforms and other external websites.

We do not control their:

• content;
• availability;
• security;
• stock;
• prices;
• privacy practices;
• customer service; or
• contractual terms.

Use third-party websites at your own discretion and review their applicable terms and policies.

22. Acceptable technical use

You may use Leica Lens List for ordinary personal and non-commercial browsing, research and comparison.

Unless we provide written permission or a public interface intended for that purpose, you must not:

• scrape or extract the website at scale;
• use automated systems that place an unreasonable load on the service;
• reproduce or commercialise the database;
• circumvent rate limits, access controls or technical protections;
• probe for vulnerabilities without authorisation;
• interfere with servers, APIs or other users;
• reverse engineer protected non-public functionality;
• use website data to build a competing database or service;
• copy substantial portions of content; or
• use Leica Lens List content to train a commercial model or dataset.

Normal search-engine indexing that respects our technical instructions is permitted.

23. Intellectual property

The original text, design, branding, software, organisation and database structure of Leica Lens List are owned by Elated. Software Development or used with permission.

You may link to public pages and quote limited excerpts for lawful purposes with appropriate attribution.

You may not reproduce substantial parts of the website, database, design or original editorial content without permission, except where applicable law expressly permits it.

“Leica” and related product names and trademarks belong to Leica Camera AG or their respective owners. Leica Lens List is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Leica Camera AG.

Third-party product images, names and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

24. Privacy and cookies

Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data.

Our Cookies and Privacy Choices page explains cookies, local browser storage, analytics, advertising measurement and external media.

These documents form part of the information governing your use of the website.

25. Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep Leica Lens List available and accurate but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We may:

• maintain or update the website;
• add, change or discontinue features;
• correct data or content;
• change technical requirements;
• limit access during security incidents; or
• discontinue the service.

Where a change materially affects a registered or paid service, we will provide reasonable notice where practical and legally required.

26. Account suspension and termination

You may stop using the website and request deletion of your account at any time.

We may restrict, suspend or terminate an account where reasonably justified, including for:

• a serious or repeated breach of these Terms;
• illegal activity;
• false stolen-gear reports;
• harassment or threats;
• intellectual-property infringement;
• spam, fraud or manipulation;
• security risks;
• attempts to evade a previous restriction; or
• a legal or regulatory requirement.

Where appropriate, we may first issue a warning or temporary restriction. Serious illegality, danger, fraud or security abuse may result in immediate action.

You can request a review of a suspension or termination through the process described above.

Sections that by their nature should continue, including intellectual-property, liability and dispute provisions, remain applicable after termination.

27. No warranties

Leica Lens List is developed and maintained with care. However, to the extent permitted by law, the free service is provided on an “as available” basis.

We do not guarantee that:

• every page or feature will always be available;
• all information will be complete or error free;
• every stolen-gear report is genuine;
• every shop or listing is trustworthy;
• prices or coupon codes will remain valid;
• the service will meet every individual requirement; or
• the website will be entirely free from technical or security issues.

This section does not exclude guarantees or rights that apply under mandatory consumer law.

28. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so is prohibited by law, including liability for intentional misconduct, fraud or other liability that cannot legally be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, Leica Lens List is not responsible for:

• a purchase or dispute between you and a third-party seller;
• incorrect third-party stock, condition or pricing information;
• failure to recover stolen equipment;
• actions taken by another user;
• losses caused by content you chose to publish;
• temporary unavailability;
• an undelivered notification;
• indirect or consequential loss; or
• loss arising from use of the website for a purpose it was not designed to serve.

Where Leica Lens List is legally liable, liability is limited to reasonably foreseeable direct loss caused by our failure to meet an applicable obligation.

Consumers retain all mandatory rights and remedies available under the law that applies to them.

29. Your responsibility for violations

You are responsible for unlawful content or conduct that you intentionally or negligently submit through your account.

Where your unlawful content or conduct causes a substantiated third-party claim or reasonable enforcement cost, you may be responsible for the resulting loss to the extent allowed by applicable law.

This provision does not impose liability where you are not legally responsible.

30. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms for valid reasons, including:

• changes to the website;
• new or discontinued features;
• security requirements;
• legal or regulatory developments; or
• clarification of existing provisions.

The revised Terms will be published with an updated date.

For a material change affecting registered users, we will provide reasonable advance notice where practical and legally required. Immediate changes may be necessary for security, illegality or an urgent legal requirement.

Where applicable law requires new agreement, we will request it. Merely continuing to browse does not waive mandatory rights.

If you do not agree to revised Terms that apply to an account service, you may stop using that service and delete your account.

31. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Dutch law.

If you are a consumer, this choice does not remove mandatory protections provided by the law of your country of residence.

We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve a dispute informally.

Disputes may be submitted to the competent Dutch court, except where mandatory consumer law allows you to bring proceedings before another competent court.

Nothing in these Terms restricts your right to contact a competent regulator, consumer-protection authority or court.

32. Severability

If a provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.

The invalid provision will be interpreted or replaced only to the minimum extent necessary to make it lawful and effective.

33. No waiver

If we do not immediately enforce a provision, this does not mean that we permanently waive the right to enforce it later.
